April , 2026 – Evan Eichhorn has filed a proposed class action lawsuit against a chain of kratom stores, claiming he became so addicted that he needed to enter drug rehab to wean himself from the substance. He spent more than $60,000 purchasing kratom beverages from CBD Kratom retail stores in Philadelphia and …. A spokesperson for MNG Brands and CBD Kratom did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the suit.
Eichhorn was working in Philadelphia as a building engineer in March or April 2024 when he saw a sign advertising kratom beverages as “an energy boosting pre-workout” supplement, according to the lawsuit, filed March 4 in U.S. District Court.
“Based on the product labels, (Eichhorn) had a reasonable belief that the beverages were not only safe but natural and healthy,” states the suit. “Upon drinking his first beverage, plaintiff Eichhorn experienced a feeling of euphoria.”
