Cunning, Baffling and DEADLY –
Aug. 7, 2026 – Clarke, 29, was found unresponsive at a home in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley on the evening of May 11. The medical examiner’s office said paramedics found Clarke in a bedroom, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Narcotics were found at the scene and there was no evidence of foul play. Clarke’s death sent shock waves through the NBA, particularly in Memphis, where he spent his entire seven-season career. A first-round draft pick out of Gonzaga, Clarke averaged 10.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in 309 career games for the Grizzlies. “Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten,” the team said in a statement at the time.
