SPIRITUAL GANGSTER –

Aug. 24, 2023 – Fans rushed to the comment section to congratulate him for making it this far, with one penning: ‘Wow! Congratulations’

Another said: ‘Just started my sober journey, Danny. Congratulations to you on yours, brother, and thank you for being yet another inspirational person and reason for me to keep my resolve, a day at a time.’ During the 1960s, Danny spent more than a decade going in and out of prison for armed robberies and drug-related offences.

The Machete actor – who grew up in a troubled home in Pacoima, California – was in hot water for accidentally hitting a guard in the head with a rock while trying to lob it at other prisoners, told he was facing the death penalty for attempted murder.

He told The Guardian: ‘I was throwing it at a group of guys and he happened to be hit,

‘So we all had gas-chamber offences, and we were taken to the hole and I remember saying: “God, if you’re there, everything will turn out the way it’s supposed to. If you’re not, I’m f**ked.”’

It seemed God listened to his prayers and the case was eventually dropped due to lack of evidence.

He kept his promise to God, and has been sober since 1969.

It comes after Danny ‘filed for bankruptcy’ to ‘re-organise his assets’ and help deal with his ‘$2million tax bill’ after he ‘mistakenly claimed deductions for years’.

The actor has starred in Hollywood blockbusters Machete in 2010, Spy Kids in 2001, and also featured in hit Netflix series Breaking Bad as Tortuga.

Despite his film career continuing into his later years, Danny has kept himself very busy with his various food businesses including Trejo Tacos and Trejo’s Coffee and Donuts in Las Vegas .

But according to TMZ, the star, is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which is referred to as the ‘reorganisation bankruptcy’, allowing a company to stay in business and restructure its obligations.
