HOPE NOT DOPE –
July 8, 2026 – Using money from opioid settlements, Albany County has launched an “It’s Possible” campaign to get out the message that recovery is possible, harm reduction is possible, prevention is possible, and community is possible. County Executive Daniel McCoy said that the county has received $8.2 million in funding.
“Albany County joined a number of lawsuits against the drug companies, the pharmaceuticals, the distributors that flooded the U.S. with opiates,” McCoy said at a July 7 press conference, announcing the new campaign.
