Feb. 23, 2024 – Mentis, a Napa County mental health nonprofit, announced that the south Napa properties the Gasser Foundation “gifted” to Mentis in November have been officially sold and donated to longstanding tenant and fellow nonprofit Serenity Homes of Napa Valley. Back in November, 1982 Lernhart sold for $900,000 and 1983 Lernhart sold for $850,000. “We’re thrilled with the outcome of the Lernhart Street properties and appreciate the partnership of Mentis and the Gasser Foundation for ensuring we can continue to serve our residents working hard in recovery,” said Chris Indelicato, chair of the Serenity Homes board.
Both homes remain deed-restricted for affordable housing, “which is what we specialize in at Serenity Homes,” said Indelicato.
“Our organizations have similar missions of creating supportive, healthier pathways for Napa Valley residents facing substance abuse and mental health, so we knew we were in trusted hands with Mentis,” he said. “We are grateful to Mentis for helping us continue to offer affordable recovery housing for our most underserved residents.”
Mentis will steer proceeds from the sale of 1983 Lernhart St. into the Mentis Wellness Campus, which is slated to open in early 2025, said the statement. That campus will be at 1272 Hayes St. in Napa.
