Marcus King Reflects On His Sobriety - Addiction/Recovery eBulletin

HONKY TONK HEAVEN –

June 24, 2025 – King candidly reflects on his journey to sobriety, while describing the social challenges he faced after giving up alcohol as an act of self-preservation. He is the frontman of his southern country rockers band and explains how sobriety has brought him newfound clarity and pride.

“I don’t really miss it because it just became a pretty miserable way of living,” he says. King is also excited to have “new music coming out with the band and under the moniker of Marcus King Band again,” while noting that joining back up with the group “just really feels like we’re back home and we’re back in the saddle and we’re really, really excited for all that’s to come.” A new album should arrive by the end of 2025, which will include the band’s two recent singles, “Carolina Honey” and “Honky Tonk Hell.”
