AMERICAN HERO –

Mar. 2026 – VISION, VOICE, VICTORY: The Joycelyn Elders Story is a documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of the life and work of Dr. Joycelyn Elders, who became the first African American woman Surgeon General of the United States. The film follows Dr. Elders’ incredible journey, as TIME Magazine’s “1994 Woman of the Year” and “One of the 100 Most Influential Women of the 20th Century.”

Now is a crucial moment for audiences to connect with Dr. Elders’ story. Our country has become more divisive and too many Americans mistakenly believe that segregation and bigotry occurred generations ago. In recent years, 17 states have re-written or removed Black History from schools, banning books and authors.

There is an assault taking place against Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Campus life has been disrupted by bomb threats at Historically Black Colleges and Universities across the country. There have been renewed attacks on Reproductive Rights, LGBTQ rights, Women’s Rights, and Voting Rights.

This is the moment to collaborate with our team to produce a film that will help audiences understand Dr. Elder as a living icon who overcame segregation and whose grandfather fled slavery.
