May 28, 2025 – Hospital workers revived a puppy with Narcan after an apparent overdose in St. Louis. The puppy’s owner now faces criminal charges.
The Attorney’s Office has charged Ashley Harris, 35, with two misdemeanors – animal abuse and resisting/interfering with arrest – amid the investigation
Investigators say the puppy was believed to be 8-10 weeks old and showed various signs of an opioid overdose, including blue gums and dilated pupils.
