May 1, 2020 – A Boonton man was sentenced to five years of drug court probation Friday for stealing $2,000 from a Wells Fargo bank in town.
Under the sentence, Andrew Merceruio, 37, must pay back the money he swiped from the bank’s Wootton Street branch in November 2019 and also undergo mandatory drug addiction treatment.
He faces a six-year state prison term if he violates the terms of probation, according to the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
