DOG GOD DOG –
Aug. 1, 2025 – She says sobriety unveiled past trauma she hadn’t yet healed from, so when someone suggested a service dog to help with her PTSD, she jumped at the suggestion.
“The value of a service dog is unbelievable for anyone who has any trauma. They can be a wonderful tool for many different types of disabilities,” said White. The next step was training her. A year after she got Lucy, White met Brittany Sweet from Intuitive Wolf K9 Training.
“I was early in recovery from alcohol addiction, and there were days where I just couldn’t get out of bed, but I had to, because I had to go and walk my dog,” said Sweet.
Her dogs helped her through the most difficult days of her recovery. She recognized the value of this experience and wanted to share it with others. That’s when she started Intuitive Wolf K9 Training.
“I’m not just training dogs; these people’s lives are changing because of this work I’m doing,” said Sweet.
Intuitive Wolf offers run-of-the-mill dog training, but Sweet specializes in PTSD service dog training and purpose-based training for people in recovery. The company has been so successful that she’s opening a rehabilitation center for dogs and people in St. Albans in October.
“I’m just really excited to bring this alternative therapy to the community. There’s nothing like this,” said Sweet.
