January 20, 2026 – I am a true believer in trying to make the world a better place. Give more than you take. Remember the less fortunate. And there but for the grace of God go I…
Q. If you are in recovery, what was your drug(s) of choice and when is your sobriety date?
A. Cocaine. I’ve had many sobriety dates over the years…I finally settled on 01/01/2018.
Q. Is there anything special in your sobriety toolkit that helps keep you sober?
A. Two key things I’ve learned throughout my years of sobriety’s ups and downs are:
1. I always ask myself, “What are/were my intentions?”
2. The more you try to make up for lost time, the more time you end up losing.
Q. Do you think addiction is an illness, disease, a choice, or a wicked twist of fate?
A. I believe it is a disease and that no two cases are identical.
Q. Where are you from and where do you reside now?
A. Grew up in Denver, CO, spent a few years in South Florida, and now living in Orange County, CA.
Q. What is one word you would use to describe yourself?
A. Decisive.
Q. Describe how you came to your “rock bottom” point.
A. Sobriety did not come easily to me and involved numerous attempts over the course of multiple years. It finally got to the point to where hope became so elusive that the pain began turning into numbness and detachment. That was my rock bottom.
Q. How do you measure success?
A. Happiness and contentment.
Q. What is your biggest pet peeve?
A. When an expression of gratitude amounts to empty words. I believe that sometimes, acting “as if” can be counterproductive. If you’re angry, ungrateful, etc., own it, talk about it, resolve it…you never know what might come of it.
Q. If you had an extra million dollars, which charity would you donate it to?
A. St. Jude Children’s Cancer Research Hospital and Beit T’Shuvah.
Q. If you could give advice to your younger self what would it be?
A. Stay active, stay busy, and don’t hang out with the stoners.
Q. What do you love most about living sober?
A. I love how the tools of sobriety can benefit my life in so many other ways.
Q. What is your Astrological sign?
A. I’m a libra (I’m not sure if that’s good or bad).
Q. Who is your favorite celebrity in recovery?
A. I love how much of an example Robert Downey, Jr. has become in sobriety.
Q. Which film have you watched the most?
A. The Princess Bride (RIP Rob Reiner).
Q. Are you binge watching any TV series?
A. The Diplomat and The Lincoln Lawyer.
Q. Who is your favorite performer, living or dead?
A. Kenny Chesney.
Q. What are some of the most memorable songs in your life?
A. Scenes from An Italian Restaurant (Billy Joel).
Jungleland (Bruce Springsteen).
Brain Damage (Pink Floyd).
Q. What is your favorite cuisine?
A. Chinese.
Q. What is the best and or worse piece of advice someone has given you?
A. The more you try to make up for lost time, the more time you end up losing.
Q. What do you value most in a friendship?
A. Integrity.
Q. What is your biggest fear?
A. I don’t fear death so much as I do a painful death.
Q. What is your biggest regret?
A. Hanging out with the wrong people.
Q. What do you love most about yourself?
A. I am kind, warm-hearted, and enjoy helping others.
Q. When did you realize you were a grown-up?

Q. Which words or phrases do you most overuse?
A. “The 1980’s called and they want their clothes back.”
