AUDIO – TOO MUCH CURRY? –
Jan. 7, 2026 – According to the police, Wasim and his wife Sharmin Akter Tumpa live in a rented house separately from other family members. As he is an addict, his brother Rakib, with the consent of the family, admitted him to the drug rehabilitation centre without informing his wife. Tumpa told New Age that the police handed over Wasim to her at Kadamtali police station on Tuesday night.
Responding to a question about whether Rakib admitted Wasim to the rehabilitation centre, both Tumpa and Wasim refused to make any comment.
On Sunday, Tumpa alleged that a group of men, identifying themselves as detectives, picked up Wasim between 5:15am and 5:30am from their house at Kadamtali on Sunday.
Tumpa filed a general diary with Kadamtali police station on the same day, as she failed to know Wasim’s whereabouts from the metropolitan police’s Detective Branch and Kadamtali police station.
