Shepard, 50, responded in the comments with his signature humor: “Well this is a low blow. Even for you. Makin’ a guy cry when he can’t turn to booze?!?!”
The post drew quick reactions from celebrity friends and fans alike. Nina Dobrev offered a string of praise emojis, Rachel Bilson sent heart emojis and Cheyenne Jackson added an emphatic “Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.”
Shepard has long been candid about his struggles with addiction. In 2020, he revealed that he had suffered a relapse after 16 years of sobriety, and later explained on Chelsea Clinton’s “In Fact” podcast how he addresses the subject with his daughters.
