On The Hills: New Beginnings, Jason’s costar Spencer Pratt accused him of not actually being sober, which Jason and his wife took offense to. However, the three made amends at the end of the season during Spencer and his wife Heidi Montag’s wellness retreat. Jason’s journey to sobriety was not easy, which he shares regularly, and he deserves a celebration for how far he’s come. While his actions during those years can not be excused as they harmed the people around him, he’s taken responsibility and made huge changes in his life. It’s inspiring to see Jason grow to be a strong individual, loving husband, and incredible father. His openness about his struggle has helped so many people, and for The Hills fans, it’s helped them understand why he behaved the way he did in the series.
