Nov. 30, 2025 – City officials have shut down an unpermitted sober transitional living facility that suddenly housed more than 40 people in a luxury Ocean Avenue building last week, prompting alarm from neighbors who suspect “body brokering” was involved. “Audit all these so called sober living/assisted living houses in LA and OC county. Most of these existed solely to enrich the owners. They don’t provide enough care to the occupants and also destroy the neighborhood.”
