We were lucky — she chose to go to treatment. Not all people who get intervened on make that choice.” … “Until we have a magic pill — and I don’t think there’s ever going to be one for this problem — alcoholism and chemical dependency is always going to be an issue,” she said. “Yes, it is a genetic issue with some people, but not all people. I just think we have to try and figure out better ways to combat it.”
