Jan. 29, 2026 – Tim Kelleher, founder of Boston Yoga Union, recently led a yoga class for staff and students from NamaStay Sober.
During closing postures, he compared the Yoga Sutras, the foundational text of yoga, to the Serenity Prayer widely used in addiction recovery. “The courage to change the things I can is that discipline … wisdom to know the difference is that looking inwards, that self-study,” he said. “The acceptance of things you cannot change … is that surrender.”
Yoga instructor Allison Burke took his class. She explained the mission of NamaStay Sober.
“We’re dedicated to supporting individuals in addiction recovery,” she said. “We’re helping them reconnect with their bodies and their minds by giving them access to affordable yoga, meditation and fitness.”
