Dec. 18, 2025 – “My little brother was a big part of my life, and we miss him a lot”, Bryant said. “I think calling it Adam’s House of Hope will help me know that maybe people can avoid feeling the way that he felt during his stay in jail.”
Recovery Cafe is trying to turn the building into a mental health facility that can help people struggling with their mental health.
Kryslin Kendall and Sarah Bryant are the Co-directors of Recovery, a place for those facing addiction, trauma, and mental health challenges. They’re now trying to expand their services and offer housing to those in need. “We want to offer an actual sober living and transitional housing place for men”, Kendall said. “There’s not anything in our county that is specifically geared towards men, and we see a lot of men that are experiencing homelessness. It’s harder for men to find a couch to sleep on and we want to be able to offer those services there.”
The two have been working with the Sullivan County Council to try and make the process work financially.
“We’re working on some grants, we’ve got some things in the works on that, but we’re also trying to come up with a lease agreement with the county”, Kendall said. “We don’t want them to just hand it to us; we want to show that we’re invested, and it means something to us.”
