VIDEO – BIG MAN – BIG HEART –
July 7, 2025 – “When we look at the overdoses and the drugs, it’s affecting not just the adults but our kids. I’m a big advocate that our kids are our future, that’s why I pour so much time into our youth. You know, I see it every day, especially right there in Macon, Mississippi. So many kids throwing their life away because of drugs, guns, whatever it may be. So, that’s the reason why I’m here today,” said Jeffery Simmons. The Jackson Medical Mall now has a vending machine that provides free and accessible opioid overdose reversal medication to those in need.
Monday morning, Fund Recovery, Mississippi Public Health Institute, REACH Impact Institute, and Padagis held a ribbon-cutting for the newly installed Naloxone vending machine.
The machine distributes 250 boxes, or 500 doses, of Naloxone, helping to combat the opioid crisis and save lives in the region.
The installation is a part of the Tackle Overdoses Now campaign, which was launched in December 2024.
