June 7, 2019 – “My mother was so beautiful and so tiny, I always felt clunky around her, and then my dad was always surrounded by supermodels,” she continued, “I was short, and you feel uncomfortable in your skin anyway at that age.” Turning to anorexia and bulimia, Kravitz continued to struggle with these illnesses as the years went on. And when she took on the role of Marie, an anorexic woman in the movie The Road Within, her struggles became even worse. She confessed, “It was f***ed up, man. You could see my rib cage. I was just trying to lose more weight for the film but I couldn’t see: ‘You’re there. Stop.’ It was scary.”
Kravitz is not the only star who has recently opened up about their battle with eating disorders that potentially stemmed from their famous parental upbringing. Model Amelia Gray spoke very openly about her struggle with anorexia after an episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aired this past Tuesday, in which her famous mother, Lisa Rinna, is a housewife on. Both Zoe Kravitz and Amelia Gray are thankfully recovered from their eating disorders, and their strength and bravery to speak openly about them will hopefully aid others in their battle to overcome these horrible illnesses.
