They aim to provide long-term recovery from addiction through measures such as education, prevention and treatment, and will not turn people away regardless of their ability to pay.
Tobacco use is the leading cause of preventable death in the nation, Gigliotti said.
“Using nicotine replacement therapy shouldn’t be long-term. But, some people have used it long-term. And that’s the thing with understanding nicotine addiction, is that it’s very dependent on the person,” she said.
Cannabis vapes are popular among youth, as well, said Gigliotti, who works with University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center to run a diversion program in Geauga schools.
