The Oval Office meeting between Sims, Conway and Trump took place just days before White House staff secretary Rob Porter became engulfed in scandal over allegations of spousal abuse, and is largely emblematic of how the president crafts his messaging — trading polished rhetoric for graphic descriptions and imagery.
