September 18th 2018 – If ever there was a lost cause, it was Tonier Cain. The 52-year-old native of Annapolis, MD was a crack addict for 19 years. She was living on the streets when she wasn’t in jail. And with 83 arrests and 66 convictions, she was in jail a lot. She recalls her lowest point came in 1989, when she was seven months pregnant. She was a prostitute, and was having sex with a man when her water broke. The baby was on the way. The man paid her $10, and Tonier went on her way. “Instead of me going to the hospital, I went to shooting gallery to put a dirty needle in my arm to shoot up drugs,” says Cain. “That’s how dark my world had become.”
