Q&A with Bridget Camacho Clinical Director of The Foothills

Bridget Camacho is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in adolescent and family treatment, experiential therapy, and animal assisted interventions. She received her master’s in social work and her Animal Assisted Social Work Certificate from the University of Denver. Throughout her professional career, Bridget has focused on mental health and how experiential therapy and animal assisted therapy can facilitate physical, emotional, and mental healing. She believes in the importance of relationships in the healing process and understands how the relationships individuals have with people, animals and nature can help them heal and grow into the people they are meant to be. Bridget has worked with adolescents and families throughout her career as a residential therapist, family therapist, IOP program manager at a program for teens and families, and as a program director at a therapeutic boarding school. Bridget recently joined The Foothills team and was warmly welcomed,

When not working, Bridget spends much of her time reading, writing, being outdoors, and spending time with her dog and two cats.

Q. Where did you grow up?
A. I grew up mostly in Atlanta, GA, but I moved around a lot and lived in Florida, Arkansas, and the UK.

A. My high school history teacher.

A. Yes. My belief in a higher power helps me to stay grounded and provides me with perspective.
