Playwright Pens New Work Humanizing Youth Struggling with Addiction

THEATERS ARE A VORTEX –

Oct. 30, 2022 – It wasn’t hard for playwright Christian St. Croix to figure out how to focus his latest play, “The Pros and Cons of Feeding Stray Cats,” which follows two transition-aged youth who meet at a weekend program for teens who’ve been arrested for drug-related offenses. During their weekend work, they find two stray cats that are hungry and form a friendship while caring for the cats. The play was commissioned by the Playwrights Project, in partnership with SAY San Diego and Elevate Youth. After hearing about St. Croix’s work from another playwright, they reached out to him for this project.
