It’s “always about teaching people that what we’re about when we host the meeting is hosting a safe place so people can stay alive,” he said. He said that a friend of his who is a funeral director said almost 30 percent of the people he’s burying are young men due to opioids, and the most important thing is to keep people alive and substance-free.
