A new report released Thursday, Sept. 24, has new concerns about women and alcohol, especially in pregnancy. While one in 10 pregnant women in the United States ages 18 to 44 reported drinking alcohol in the past 30 days, the concern was that a third of them reported. Quitting cigs helps alcoholics stay sober Most people with alcohol use disorder smoke cigarettes, but those who continue to smoke after they quit drinking are more likely to relapse within three years, according to a large study of recovering alcoholics. Department of Health and Human Services is making changes to its licensing requirements for inpatient drug and alcohol treatment centers in order to address a statewide shortage of beds.
