VIDEO – WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM… –

Oct. 19, 2022 – Perry did survive. However, this hadn’t been the first time he’d struggled with substance use. The TV star told the outlet his alcohol addiction started to become apparent after he was cast as Chandler Bing in “Friends” at age 24.

“I could handle it, kind of,” Perry recalled. “But by the time I was 34, I was really entrenched in a lot of trouble.”

During that time, he continued, “there were years” that he was sober. “Season nine was the year that I was sober the whole way through,” he added. “And guess which season I got nominated for best actor? I was like, ‘That should tell me something.’” However, Perry had trouble maintaining his sobriety, with People reporting there was a point during his time on “Friends” that he was taking 55 Vicodin a day.
