Addiction Recovery

Man pursuing online idea to connect people to addiction recovery programs anytime

Innovate, don’t isolate –

JUN 17, 2020  – The coronavirus pandemic gave Sanders a new perspective on how to reach people when 12-step meetings aren’t available.

When Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home orders this spring prevented recovery groups from gathering, Sanders saw a need to provide a platform where recovering addicts can search for online meetings by local time, location, language, addiction or topic.  “I decided to lend my experience, strength and hope to create something that could help,” said Sanders, who has a background in game design and development. The result is a clearinghouse MeetingMakersClub.com, which is under development and in need of $15,000 to get off the ground. He is crowdfunding on Indiegogo.
