May 6, 2022 – Once COVID hit, I knew quarantining and the way I drink would not work well together…to say the least,” Leah said at the time in an interview with Us Weekly. “Not drinking during the pandemic has been a complete gift to me, and the nine years of living booze-free has made the transition much easier to deal with. I am so incredibly touched by the outpouring of love and support on social media. I want to remove the stigma and shame surrounding addiction and mental health issues as this is something I’ve been open about and will continue to be.”
Recently, Leah shared a photo of herself on Instagram from an opening gala for a Broadway play, and revealed an update on her sobriety within the caption of her post, writing, “I’m not Cali sober anymore. I’m sober sober.”
Leah also revealed in a recent interview with E! News how honestly facing her past battles and sobriety journey was difficult, but ultimately writing her book, Chaos Theory: Finding Meaning in the Madness, One Bad Decision at a Time, had helped her in the long run. “I learned more about myself by recounting my life and retelling my life and it brought me to a really better place than I was in when I started writing the book,” she said.
