Joe Manganiello On Taking LSD Before Getting Sober

The True Blood star’s personal life has become an increasingly hot topic, and in a new interview the actor opened up about some illuminating past experiences and the valuable lessons he’s taken from them.

When asked about the best advice he’s ever received from someone, Manganiello credited his Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh for imparting some priceless Hollywood wisdom on him.

“He said, ‘All anyone does in the entertainment industry is talk. And you jump from circus to circus. So you collect these stories about these circuses and other people in those circuses. And then when everybody gets together, all they do is talk about everybody else. So what do you want the story to be when someone in some other circus is talking about their experience with you? Think about that and then go be that,’” Manganiello recounted.

As for the worst piece of advice he’d ever followed, Manganiello looked back on his first time doing LSD and what he was told when he didn’t feel anything at first.
