May 25, 2023 – People struggling with addiction may exhibit changes in their physical and emotional health, such as insomnia, weight loss or gain, mood swings, and a lack of energy. Additionally, addiction can cause individuals to withdraw from activities they once enjoyed and isolate themselves from friends and family members. As humans, we are social creatures by nature. So, when we withdraw from social activities or fail to meet commitments, a deeper issue may be at play. It’s possible that the individual may be struggling with an addiction, and it’s essential to take note of any behavior that is out of character.
Financial issues can arise when there is excessive spending on substance abuse or gambling. These issues can have a wide-reaching impact on a person’s life, including their ability to pay bills on time, purchase necessities, or even maintain stable employment. The high costs of these addictive behaviors can quickly add up, leaving individuals struggling to get by. Unfortunately, for those who struggle with addiction, the urge to keep spending can often overpower the knowledge of these consequences, leading to a never-ending cycle of financial difficulty.
