March 2, 2024 – When Emma first found tianeptine, she had just had her second baby six months earlier and was looking for something to help her lose weight. “I had just started vaping and I went to this gas station where I would get vapes from.” But she bought Neptune’s Fix and Za Za, sold in brightly colored bottles. The small bottles are preferred by struggling addicts who are looking for a safer alternative to street drugs and can be found at corner stores and smoke shops across the country. “There was this new bottle of Zaza sitting there, and it said it was a dietary supplement.”
Willing to try something new, Emma asked the gas station attendant about the pills and walked out with a bottle after hearing glowing reviews.
“So I was like, ‘Well heck yeah I’m gonna try it,’” Emma said.
“I didn’t think anything of it cause it’s just something you can buy over the counter at a gas station.”
