Freed Prisoners Get Alcohol Ankle Detectors

BETTER THAN A COURT CARD? –

Nov. 18, 2021 – Prisoners at risk of committing alcohol-fuelled crime will be forced to wear an electronic tag when released to detect if they have been drinking.

In what the government has called a “world first”, serious and prolific offenders known to reoffend after consuming alcohol will be banned from drinking once they are freed from prison.

They will be tagged with devices which monitor alcohol levels in sweat…
