Even Heroes Can Struggle With Addiction

July 12, 2019 – William Wilberforce, the parliamentarian known for leading the legislative fight to end the British slave trade, struggled with opioid use over 45 years. That biographers resist calling it an addiction has less to do with a lack of historical evidence than a misunderstanding of addiction itself.
