Dec. 2, 2025 – The new film Hazard takes place in an Appalachian town and follows the lives of a young couple as one man tries to break his cycle with addiction for the betterment of himself and his family. Writer and director Eddie Mensore shares how this heartfelt and gritty drama was inspired by his friend’s brother who experience a similar story in Hazard Kentucky.
Not only does this film Highlight the regions on going-opioid crisis but gets up close and personal into the everyday battles of addiction. “I got to go to Hazard Kentucky and write the story with his brother. It comes from the addict’s point of view and it’s easy to look down upon people who are addicted to drugs, hopefully people watching on the outside during the movie can feel compassion for the person.” EDDIE MENSORE, WRITER AND DIRECTOR OF HAZARD
