June 21 2018 – Demi Lovato has released a surprise single, “Sober,” about her real-life break from sobriety after six years abstaining from alcohol.
“Momma I’m so sorry I’m not sober anymore / And Daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor / To the ones who never left me, we’ve been down this road before / I’m so sorry, I’m not sober,” she sings in the song, adding: “I’m sorry for the fans I lost, who watched me fall again / I wanna be a role model, but I’m only human.”
Lovato has long struggled with addiction and eating disorders, and opened up about her journey in the documentary Simply Complicated that came out with her last album.
