PROFILE

Robyn L. Goldberg, RDN, CEDRD, INC. Private Practice.  Robyn began her career at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as the in-patient dietitian in the Department of Cardiology. Over the last twenty two years she has developed her own private practice in Beverly Hills, CA, where she specializes in medical conditions, disordered eating, eating disorders, Health at Every Size, pre-pregnancy nutrition, preventative nutrition and people in recovery.  Robyn promotes opportunity to excel in personal health and fitness maintenance through a lecture series in association with several medical groups. She serves as a Nutrition Consultant for the Celiac Disease Foundation.  For the last eight years Robyn was the Nutritional Counselor for the Susan Krevoy Eating Disorders Program at The Wright Institute Los Angeles was a consultant for Panda Restaurant Group and teaches the nutrition classes for the Motion Picture Wellness Program. Currently Robyn is the Director of Nutrition Service for The Control Center, an addiction IOP, where she seeing all the eating disorder patients.  She is a contributing author and is a nationally known registered dietitian nutritionist. Robyn has led body image and eating disorder groups at several sober livings in Los Angeles.  She has been quoted in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Fix, Shape Magazine, Fitness, Oxygen, Pilates Style, Diabetes Forecast, BH Weekly and Life & Style.  She has been on national television as the eating disorder expert on The Insider.

A Dietitian Changed My Life


Q. If you are in recovery, what was your DOC and when did you discontinue its use?
A.  I am married to an addict who is in recovery for 25.5 years.  His drug of choice was alcohol.  

Q. At which of the schools you attended did you learn the most?
A. CSUN (Cal State Northridge) 

Q. Do you believe leaders are made or born?
A. Both    

Q. Which film have you watched the most?
A. Grease   

Q. Who is your favorite celebrity in recovery?
A. Anthony Hopkins  

Q. If you ever retire, would you prefer to live by the ocean, lake, river, or mountaintop, or penthouse?
A. Penthouse   

Q. What is your favorite hotel or resort?
A. Oberoi Hotels in India and the Dhara Dhevi in Thailand 

Q. How do you measure success?
A. The effort you put into anything you do and never giving up  

Q. If you had an extra million dollars, which charity would you donate it to?
A. St. Jude   

Q. Who was your biggest influence throughout your life?
A. My father  

Q. What is your current hobby?
A. How much time do you have? Cycling, swimming, playing tennis as I was a college tennis player, Pilates, Iyengar Yoga, lifting weights, cooking and baking as well as playing with my King Charles Cavaliers.

A.  No one stands out at the moment.

A. A disease

A. Be a person of your word, say what you believe, be a person of integrity, be truthful, never  quit.   

Q. What’s the greatest risk you’ve ever taken?
A. Road my bike through a pack of bulls with horns in India    

Q. What is the proudest moment in your life?
A. When I became a registered dietitian and soon will be the publishing of my book 

Q. Is there a favorite “Quote” you would like to share?
A. Be yourself, everyone else is taken. 

Q. What prompted you to go into the healing profession?
A. My family history of heart disease and high cholesterol   

Q. What do you think of the phrase “people are only as sick as their secrets”?
A. Depends on the person

Q. If you had a serious illness, who would you rather be treated by, Hippocrates or Guanyin?
A. Hippocrates   

Q. Do you think clients in residential rehab should have access to their cell phones, and why?
A. No. it’s important to detach from technology
