Nov. 23, 2023 – The holidays can be a rough time for different folks– especially for people recovering from alcoholism.
It’s why Alcoholics Anonymous is promoting the importance of their Alkathons.Its purpose is to create a safe space and help people stay sober or achieve sobriety.
Mike, who has asked to remain anonymous, shared why the holidays were a hard time for him.
“Coming back and reconnecting with families and after some years of active alcoholism can be difficult,” said Mike. “So having a place that is safe loving and compassionate to join together has been helpful for me and helpful for other alcoholics in here.”
