“It didn’t happen overnight and I didn’t immediately get sober. It took some time for me to realize that I had a problem,
“If you’re going to be sober, it is important to have your friends and the people around you understand what your motivations are. Like, I tell my friends, ‘I can’t drink. I have a problem.’ So they respect that and then they look out for me, whether it’s shots of water, NA beer or just checking in on me. You can’t do it alone. You need a support group,” he says.
